Five for one and one for five. So it had been since their school days. So it was in their adult life...... Pandurang, Arun, Shekhar, Suresh, Kishan. They lived together in a messing house, shared one another's problems, and joys. If one of them faced unemployment, the others readily shouldered his burden. It was a happy existence.

Then, like a bolt from the blue, the manager of their lodgings gave them an ultimatum that they quit. He had some very attractive offers from other prospective tenants. The famous five fought the manager's scheming tooth and nail, but finally in sheer disgust they decided that they should move to more reasonable surroundings. It was one thing to take a decision, quite another to find a suitable flat in Bombay. One after another, the five friends wandered throughout the day and well into the night, hoping to find something and just when it looked hopeless, they came across a very neat little flat in the suburbs. The rent was fair, the elderly couple who were the landlords were affectionate, but they made one big stipulation. The flat would only be rented to married persons. Bachelors were out! Now, of the five, only Pandurang was a married man, and his wife was far, far away in his Uttar Pradesh village home. THe other four were all bachelors, very eligible bachelors, no doubt, but nonetheless bachelors. The chances of securing the suburban flat receded rapidly......but just wait. When all seemed futile, the trusted Pandurang came up with an amazing idea.

What an idea! What a situation!! And what a stunning romance when the Five occupy their dream flat, bringing along their dream girls. Incidents pile up so fast and furious, and the story of "Biwi aur Malan" will leave you breathless and helpless with unrelenting laughter. There have been laugh riotsn and mirthquakes, there have been comedies and comedies, but there has never been anything as screamingly funny as "Biwi aur Makan" since the first moving picture illuminated the silver screen.
